InteriorAccenting your home's interior with stone will add warmth, character and charm to any room. Whether you decide to add stone to your fireplace, entryway or an entire wall, you will greatly increase the "wow" factor. When it comes to stone veneer you need an expert to guide you on what will work in your home. Some interior areas do not structurally, architecturally or aesthetically lend themselves to stone. The consultants at StoneCrafters will meet with you to discuss your design ideas and help you make the best decision for your particular home, goals and budget. InstallationThe Importance of Proper Installation There is a right way and a wrong way to install stone veneer inside your home. When done correctly, with the proper layering of base materials like cement and 2.5 metal lath, your stone veneer will stay beautifully in place for years and years to come. Incorrect or substandard installation, however, can lead to many problems including cracking and loose stones that threaten to fall off. Cutting corners on installation to save money will only create future headaches. It's important to choose a company that installs stone properly to avoid problems down the road. At StoneCrafters, we pride ourselves on our meticulous stone installations. You can count on us to do it right. A Word About the MessInstalling stone inside your home is always messy business. While we strive to keep dust levels to a minimum it's impossible to completely eliminate it. That's why we always recommend scheduling a complete air duct cleaning once your stone project is complete. And remember, the beauty and charm that stone adds to your home will be well worth the temporary mess. Dry Stack verses GroutWe employ two different methods of installation: Dry Stack or Grout Joint. With a Dry Stack installation there is no grout/mortar around the stones. With a Grout Joint installation there is grout around each stone. Almost all of our stone can be installed using either method which allows for personal preference. |
